Dr. Jennifer Lunardo

Optometrist

Dr. Jennifer Lunardo was born and raised in Etobicoke, ON (Michael Power ’04).

 

She attended the University of Toronto, and graduated with Bachelor of Physical Education and Health (BPHE), with honours, in 2008.

 

She completed her Doctor of Optometry (OD) in 2012 at the SUNY College of Optometry in New York City. Dr. Lunardo graduated among the top of her class and was a member of Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society, and Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.

 

During her training, she completed a pediatrics externship at the Vision Institute of Canada in Toronto, an ocular disease externship at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Tucson, Arizona and ocular disease/primary care/pediatrics/vision therapy internships at the University Eye Center in New York City.

 

Dr. Lunardo’s diverse clinical experience has led her to open Etobicoke Vision Centre in 2023.

 

She has worked in various clinical settings across the GTA, including private practice, independent eye clinics inside Costco, and Medcan Clinic.

 

She loves working close to home and providing eye care services to her local community.

 

During her free time, she enjoys traveling, snowboarding, biking, playing volleyball, and spending time with her Pomeranian.

Dr. Mindy Chow

Optometrist

Dr. Mindy Chow was born and raised in Toronto, where her passion for science, and the eyes, developed at an earlier age. Dr. Chow holds a Bachelor’s in Biomedical Science, with a minor in Psychology, from the University of Waterloo. She completed her Doctorate of Optometry at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO), Salus University, was a member of the International Optometric Beta Sigma Kappa Honors Society, and graduated among the top of her class.

 

Dr. Chow holds extensive clinical experience, including externships at Veterans Affair Hospital in New Hampshire, and Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation Eye Clinic in Alaska. While in Alaska, she volunteered on three mission trips that provided remote villages with access to vision care. She also has clinical experience practicing in Greenville, North Carolina.


She has diagnosed and managed patients with a variety of eye conditions including glaucoma, age macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and retinal detachments. She is also experienced in paediatric care and vision therapy, having helped children with functional binocular and accommodative problems internships at PCO.

 

She has also provided cataract, corneal and refractive surgery consultations (i.e LASIK and PRK) and post-operative follow-up care at a private ophthalmologist clinic in Toronto.

 

Dr. Chow has completed both Canadian and American board certifications (CACO and NBEO) and is an active member of Canadian Optometric Association (CAO). She is certified to provide therapeutic pharmaceutical agents for treatment of diagnostic eye diseases.

 

Dr. Chow is fluent in English and Cantonese, and additionally speaks basic Mandarin. Outside of work, she is a busy mom to a young daughter, and enjoys travelling. Dr. Chow strives to provide quality vision care and to establish long-lasting patient relationships. She welcomes new patients.
